Have got a little impetigo on my chin, seems every website says its mainly a childrens affliction. Any recommendations on how to get rid of it by Friday (I'm going to a wedding - good timing)...

Try dabbing it with witch hazel several times a day to dry it,and apply an antibiotic cream at night;you can try neosporin, but you might need a presciption, there's one called Bactroban that's really good;my Dr. gave it to me for a dog bite, but it's the ointment of choice for impetigo.

My son's just had this under his bottom lip, it looked like he had been drinking red juice and stained his face, it then went scaly and livid red overnight - we went to the doctors, he was given a cream - we were told it would take about a week but within 48hrs we noticed a marked improvement. So I'd get to a dr. asap and get some of that cream - it wont clear up without treatment. And one other thing, it came back another 3 times, because as soon as it looked ok we stopped using the cream (putting any lotion around a child's mouth is nigh on impossible) - so would recommend you continue using the cream for a couple of days after it seems clear! Good luck

You might get rid of it by washing the infected area with soap and using an antibiotic ointment. If it's bad enough, you might need to see a doctor to prescribe something for you ASAP.

you need a steroid cream it probably won't b gone by friday but you than likely will be able to cover it. keeping it dry stops it spreading. it is normally childrenthat get it as they tend to touch others alot more frequently and things that have been in contact. It is always in your bdy but you need to touch something that has been in contact with it. so make up you wash all towels and throw away any make up and bruses that you have used on it to stop reacurrence.

My husband had this a few years ago. The doctor gave him a cream for it but sorry don't know what it was. Maybe go to your own doctor and they will be able to prescribe you something.

Clean it with peroxide, then put bacitracin on it. Keep it dry and don't cover it.
