Love is not equal to sex.
Women give sex to men because they think this is the way to make men love them.
Men tell women that they love them to get sex.
You can have love with out sex, and you can have sex without love. But if you don't have love, you shouldn't have sex.

Love means a level of commitment has been reached. Marriage formalizes that commitment on the part of both partners and makes it official in Law. Sex has the chance of creating a life that requires commitment to nurture. Yes, sex feels good but a full commitment as a couple is necessary to raise the child that results from sex. Now, apart from that, sex also creates a bond between the two that deepens their commitment to each other. I've known couples who had been together decades and really seemed to dislike each other but were still together. Odd really, but explainable in the whole scheme of things.

Its not necessarily equated. In our society marriage is viewed as a deep commitment and therefore sex goes with it. Some people will only give themselves to the one person they are committed to whereas others feel no relationship between having sex and loving someone. Physiologically men are meant to spread their seed to ensure the perpetuation of the human race and don't necessarily have loving feelings to any female whereas sex for a woman culminates in a 9 month pregnancy and puts her out of action, so to speak and her reproductive life is limited. A mans is much longer. Did I answer the question, seemed to have waffled a bit...oops

love is equated to sex (without dress) because sex (without dress) is a way of expressing love to his/her lover.
