serious answers only, i know i'm not going to make a fortune on this one!...i've got an 1986 D reg ford escort. Its in great condition, only 50,000 miles (it was my grandads, hes been ill and had it locked up in his garage for 8 years)..i've had it for 2 years now. Passed its MOT no problems and i fully expect it to do so again when it is due in November again. its a 1.4, 4 gears and petrol. it has an alarm fitted, CD player, sunroof. I've just bought a new car and need to sell this one. cheers.

If its mint body work and interior, with that mileage someone will give you £700 regardless of the age

It will depend on if your car passes its Mot in November. Unfortunately any old car with 2 months Mot isn't going to be worth a lot.

Its sad that people like your grandad look after their cars and then they are worth nothing. I would take some really good photos every angle, under the bonnet etc and then put it on ebay then you mike get an enthusiast bid.

You might get £200 £300 but if you were to trade it in its worth £50

sorry but the car is a 20 year old escort and on the open market worthless.
perhaps try the ford escort owners club you may get some interest.

It really doesn't matter that it's in great condition, low mileage atc.. at the end of the day it's a 20 year old escort, it's worth a couple of hundred quid.

personally i would make as many ford enthusiasts as possible aware of the little gem you have. put it in classic car mags with the best price you can. ford mags are also available in WH Smiths, granted the mag may cost a few £ but you are going to get a grateful buyer with a worthy price and home for her.

I'm not sure, but check "parkers price guide" online, which will give free "quotes" on market value for cars over a certain age (your's certainly falls into the "over a certain age" category!)

I'd guess about £200 though

IT IS A £50.00 CAR,YOU MUST SAY TO YOURSELF WHY WOULD ANYONE GIVE 100S OF POUNDS FOR A 20 YEAR OLD CAR,WHEN THEY CAN GIVE 100S 0F POUNDS FOR A CAR A LOT YOUNGER.PEOPLE WANT NEW THINGS,I SUGGEST MAYBE SOMEONE IN THE FAMILY MIGHT APPRECIATE THE CAR MORE BECAUSE OF SENTIMENTAL VALUE.
