becasue you didn't say what type of camera it is i couldn't find the exact software you need. Its as easy as typing sony camera software in your search engine. Once you tell this sony site what model you have it will tell you what you need. If it tells you what type of software you need and doesn't offer the download type that into your search engine +free download. If this camera has never been used on your computer before you are actually looking for the hardware.....or the driver....once you have the right driver i beleive the software will upload once you plug in the camera again. picasa is a Google's photo software. It's what should've come with your camera.

It can Edit , organise and Share you picture and small video flips.

It's very easy to use and is free, just like Google
