To the best of my knowledge, radiation does damage to tissue when it passes through the body. I doubt anyone could live long enough to develope immunity to it. The place to study this would be Japan where there are still some living who might have been exposed to small amounts.

But from what I read about the cast of one John Wayne movie, just a wee bit too much and the people will come down with several types of cancer. The movie I speak of was filmed not too far from where some early nuclear bombs were tested. Almost every person who was a part of that movie on location developed cancer.

So I have to wonder how doctors can use radiation to stop cancer. Seems like it would just start more.

Time will tell..................

No. the main threatening kind of radiation is gamma radiation as that's amazingly energetic. in spite of the undeniable fact that it additionally has a short a million/2 life so it loses its skill to do injury fairly right now. Any radiation will reason injury to any cellular it hits. If sufficient cells are hit that is going to reason radiation ailment via fact the bodies immune equipment will become overwhelmed by ability of the wear to maximum of cells. If radiation hits a cells DNA it could regulate the DNA so as that next cells created by way of mitosis of the DNA broken cellular might additionally be altered. finally those genetic mutations can produce maximum cancers cells. the single fairly proved anti radiation pill is potassium iodide which permits ward off thyroid maximum cancers by ability of flooding the thyroid with non-radioactive iodide.
