of America? which means they are only a segment of Mexican society, did you know that or do you think all Mexicans from Mexico are like that?

I studied in Mexico City and there are class divisions there, most Mexicans there have a demeanor that is like snobs and act and talk like their high class, but I saw that in most Mexican Cities, same modalities.

Thats what I'm getting too, not all Mexicans in Mexico are like the illegal aliens, they are a small segment that migrate. It would be like saying all Americans are rednecks or hicks.

Most Americans probably do not know that the large stmajority of illegal immigrants form Mexico are the peasants. The middle and upper classes have no need to immigrant. The peasant has at best a 6th grade education, The schools in the small villages do not offer any higher education. They may be able to read and write their own language... maybe. Most are married by the time they are 16, with children by the time they are 17-18 and an old maid (if female) by the time they reach 19. The houses will normally have dirt floors, no running water, no bathroom facilities, and a wood stove for heating and cooking. The houses are built by the men to prove they are ready to get married. There is little to no medical services and what there is is mainly for minor things. If anything major, they have to travel into one of he major cities, if they can afford it. This includes dental, eyes, heart,, ect. They have a traveling midwife to deliver the babies.

Knowing all of this, I understand why they want to come to America.... The place with money... free medical... free schools... good houses.... any wages they get is better than they get in Mexico. The big problem is nothing will change in Mexico until its citizens (the peasants) get tired of the caste system and work to make changes.

The other problem is that they have decided to come here ILLEGALLY. If I get caught living in Mexico ilegally, it will not be a pretty picture. The citizen who turns me in gets a reward and the Mexican jails are not known for their comfort. I do think that a guest worker program might work, but first we need to deport ALL of the illegals, put those Americans who are receiving welfare back to work, and then see what we need guest workers for.

Now those hicks and rednecks you badmouthed... they are the types who helped defeat the British and the French... You might think they are stupid, but they will defend this country better than any city slicker ever will!! Most of them have more patriotism in their little finger and will fight to protect their country.

I am a Hick. I was born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains. I am not a genius I admit. But my IQ is high enough to walk and talk at the same time. By Mensa standards, gifted. I do not understand why you believe all Hillbillies are like the ones pictured in Deliverance? You need to get out of your apartment some. Most Hicks as you put it have higher morals, less crime in their communities, just as well educated, more COMMEN SENSE, and a much better understanding of their Urban neighbors then you do of theirs. Get off your intellectual high horse and go for a walk outside your neighborhood.

Most of the Mexicans that come here are the uneducated ones who are having problems surviving in their homeland because they don't have welfare. Did you know that if a Mexican child doesn't want to go to school he has that right, and that once kicked out they can never go back? That's why there are so many of them here. They can get kicked out of school even in the first grade. The only kids in the Mexican schools are the ones who actually want to be there.

We know that. We aren't against Mexicans, we are against illegal immigrants ruining our schools and services by virtue of their poverty. Regardless of hard work, poor people just pay little in taxes and the rest of us have to subsidize education for their children and health care for their families, etc. That is why we limit how many poor people can come. The upper classes (assuming they remain upper class when they immigrate and don't down-scale in jobs) put more in economically than they take out. That is why our immigration laws, like those of all countries, are slanted to get skilled or wealthier people. Immigration laws of this country are for the benefit of this country.

Actually, I have known quite a few Mexicans, including both illegal and legal immigrants. Most of them have been fairly nice people.

I don't agree with breaking the law, but I understand trying to make life better. I also know that a few illegal immigrants commit violent crimes in the U.S. I have had reasonably direct knowledge of some of them.

Yes, I know. They also originated the cowboy and rodeo. That' s why we need to keep their stupid asses out of here. They contribute little and don't have much desire to live up to ones potential other than expanding family. That's all this country needs, more "backwoods" people. They are poor, dirty, and stupid and revolve their whole existence around making babies. It's a characteristic of low intelligence.

If you are trying to defend the mexican people in some way you don't have to, most know this already. There are different classes in all cultures. What's your point??

I understand that. Sometimes I speak to anyone up North, I get ridiculed and called stupid, cause I'm "from Georgia". People think that anyone who's from Georgia, Tennesee, Alabama, or Mississippi is automatically stupid.
