It is possible but very unlikely. Do not know how large it is or what country you live in, but if it is flying then it is probably not dangerous - most insect that are dangerous that fly are brightly coloured to advise people of this.

If you are really worried, spray it with insect killer or hit it hard with a rolled up newspaper.

Alternatively you could catch it in a glass and put it outside.

Even poisonous insects will not normally bite for unknown reason so you have nothing to really worry about

Probably not. Sounds like a grasshopper or maybe a dragonfly. Both are vegetarians and neither will bother humans.

If you have house plants you might want to get this guy out of your living room, though.

No we don't get hornets that big in Cali, and if it's not a hornet or wasp in California, but it flies, it's not dangerous. Sounds like a dragonfly maybe? Or some wierd type of junebug?

Probably a locust, they have see thru type wings with some black on them. Or it could be a cicada, it looks very green and rubber like. Almost like it has unsnapped green beans on each side. If they are threatened they can shrill loudly.

Green is a good colour. Nothing green is ever dangerous. Becareful of red black and orange colours.

I think it's not dangerous because it's green.
If insect have black-yellow or red combination, then it could be dangerous, but not always.

Sounds like a grasshopper as they are pretty noisy and have wings so they can fly too!

leave it, it should be dead by morning, most likely not dangerous, but then again, I don't know where you live, and it could be very dangerous
