There is a new payment system that the NHS are now running. It has 3 stages. Stage one is your basic routine things ie check up, x-rays and simple fillings. This cost around £15 - £20. Stage 2 is big fillings, root treatments extractions. This cost is around £40 -£50. Stage 3 is all your big work like crowns bridges and surgicl work. I think this cost is about £90 but I'm not to sure. Your dental receptionist should be able to tell you. Or look on the NHS website. You should be able to find every thing that you need there. Good Luck x x

Hi I am a Dental Nurse and work for NHS Dentist the new charges for NHS are 15.50 for exam x-rays scale and polish treatment plans preventive care emergencies out of hours eg tooth out comes in the same price.

If it is a planed tooth out you will pay 42.40 this also covers all fillings all root canal treatments and the above exam etc once you pay 15.50 and you need to go back for treatment you pay 26.90 remainder as 15.50 is deducted from the 42.40.

if you need crowns bridges dentures the max is 189.00 which also includes all of the above.

Hope this helps

Depends on your circumstances. As someone else has suggested, why not ask them how much the charge is. However if you're on JSA (IB) or Income Support or some other benefits, it would be free. Mind you, incapacity benefit and a couple of others have now been removed from the free treatment I think so, again, if you ask, they'll be able to tell you.

And yes, it's getting harder to find a good dentist on the national health service, although they are available if you're lucky so hope you get yourself sorted out soon.

10 years??? you deserve to be having them all taken out. you should visit the dentist every 6 months. You're lucky to be able to get to see an NSH dentist after 10 years, most dentists aren't taking on new patients except private!!

No - earlier than Christmas even as it hit the South East of england, we basically had some flurries one nighttime which did not loaf round. i'm sitting the following waiting for the envisioned snowfall it is meant to be engulfing Worcestershire in the present day. I hate it too - offered in a load of milk, potatoes, tinned veges and bread the day exceeded by, so I shall sit down it out. Veges can't be harvested in severe frost circumstances. If it seems to be prolonged, comparable to 1947 and 1963, do no longer ignore that frozen snow can convey down means traces which = no electricity = no vehicle ignition of significant heating boilers and no electric powered water pump = no significant heating. No electric powered cooking, no electric powered lights. In 1975, we even had to have kin water further to our doors with the help of water vehicles because the availability pipes had frozen underground in Bristol. satisfied ideas!

should be £42.50 under the new NHS contract, unless you are having any crowns or bridgework or dentures made in which case the blanket fee will be £189 which is the highest you can pay on the NHS.
