I downloaded an ISO file and I want to access it. Some users suggest I burn it onto a cd/dvd and using it from there. But it says that I have to burn it on a bootable cd.

Is it necessary to burn an ISO file on a BOOTABLE cd or will any CD-rom do?

If I burn on a normal CD-Rom, will I be able to use the ISO file or will it be stuck/spoiled?

And, where do I get a bootable CD?

Thanks.

an (ISO) file is a Image file you have a Image
now you say you have burn it on the a CD\ DVD
well i hope you burn it on to a CD(R) cd not a DVD(RW) cd or a DVD(R) cd coz that is a BOOTABLE cd
for booting up the system you can make a windows xp BOOTABLE cd when you got the (ISO) file did you not read what the (ISO) file was? if its A windows BOOTABLE (ISO) file it will boot up windows for you to fix any problems
but it will not work on a DVD(RW) or DVD(R) cd your have problems make sure when you burn A (ISO)file its on a CD(R)cd only not a DVD(R) DVD(RW) CD(RW) burn the (ISO)file
to a CD(R) disk only

i like the way >>>str0ngsad << BOOTABLE cd if you know what your doing here is some news for you .. you can boot up from windows 95 cd format the hard drive and reinstall windows 95 back on to the hard drive but you have to kown what your doing lol by the way im on a new system just out 2months back with win xp on it lol

A bootable CD is one that has enough of the elements of an operating system to execute without relying on an already existing operating system. These are mostly used for computer maintenance and repair -- such as eradicating viruses, which may be lurking in the operating system, and can't be got rid of if the operating system is running. I know nothing about ISO files, so cannot say why such a thing should be on a bootable CD.

If the CDROM is going to be bootable, that information is in the ISO file. Assuming that your computer can boot from the CDROM, (only really old ones can't) there should be a message on your screen after the POST and before OS loads saying "Press any key to boot from CDROM" Press a key and you should be all set. So bottom line, burn the ISO to a CD, slap it in the computer and boot it and press a key when it asks you to.

One that you're willing to hold between your thumb and index finger, and fling out the window of your car.
