No.

Nine Demons had a good link there with the Muay Thai K1 champ....that's a prime example as to how kicks should be thrown.

Let me give you another, not from MT.

This is from Mats Hjelm, one of the Bujinkan's top foreign instructors.....while the video incorporates a lot more than just basic punches and kicks....there are some basic universal kicks that could educate you.

Kicking should be subtle, low, and strong if they're going to work.

Keep that fancy garbage for form or XMA competitions where it has it's place.

The guy in red gear was horrible! He back away and turn around. That's a HUGE NO NO in fighting!!!!!

That combo would have got the guy in blue knocked out becaue his hands was down and his kicks have no power behind it.

Here's a video of how kicks are suppose to be thrown and used. Notice how fast and hard it hit also how well the guy's head was guarded or moved out of the way. Hi head was never in openig:
