At the age of 40 or more we know what we want. we have done most of the things young men do and have nothing left to prove. besides all that we are more financially secure. we are attractive to some younger women.

Not sure of the wording of your question however a man 40 and older better be in a serious relationship. As a matter of fact with all of the STD's and AID's a 25 year old man needs to be in a serious relationship. Relationships are a serious matter and should be taken seriously. A 40 or older man is very immature if he hasn't settled down at that age. How much more partying can he do? 40 and over is definitely settling down age.

Well, I'm 40's and older. My male friends have told me the older women don't seem as flighty as the younger women, But I think it goes both ways. I think it just depends on the persons. My boyfriend is 14 years younger than me. I'm going to be 56 my next birthday. Man, what a trip!!! But we get along pretty good. I don't know if I could go any younger, but I've seen it done and it's worked out find. Anyway that's my answer, sorry if it didn't help much.

More and more men today are staying single later for many reasons. Some men want to focus on their career first and want to travel before they get into anything really serious (like me). Some men honestly haven't met the "right one" until later in life and it usually is because they work so much that they don't get out as much as they should. Some men finally come to the realization if they want to start a family then they aren't getting any younger and they probably should start getting on it before they turn 50!

because by the time they get this age they are tired of dating and looking for a serious relationship. Also because at this age they may have been married or in a serious relationship at an earlier age that didn't work out.

To MY perspective, the REAL question here should be, WHY aren't MORE men over 40 WILLING to commit to a serious relationship???!

If they ARE committed to one - they are to be COMMENDED. Most of us want a lifelong partner to share our life & love with, REGARDLESS of age!

Unfortunately, where I live, most of the men over 40 seem to fall into one of several categories: married already, TOTALLY gay, married but doing some gay "flings" on the SIDE.... or just such a dysfunctional loser that NO ONE would want him!!!!

To find a suitable prospect in his 40s who WANTS to settle down & "get serious" would be a GODSEND!

Are they supposed to be having mid-life crises or something that they wouldn't have serious relationships? Men and women over 40 still need love and have a lot to offer another person.

Yeah, what is the point at that age? They have difficulty coaxing blood to flow to the brain, not to mention the third leg.

I suppose it may make some men feel younger. Perhaps they just want to see if they have what it takes. Don't they know that the body is fairly well deteriorated by then, and many glands don't produce the juice like it used to?

So, what is the point at that age?
