I could, as my cardiovascular condition is in it's prime.....but I sure wouldn't want to waste my time on it.

It has no power, it's easy to blow through or avoid, and the person giving the kick in question hasn't a bit of stable balance to I'd be throwing their fancy-kicking butt around.

Personally, and maybe this is just my conditioning from over a decade in Hung Gar/Wing Chun, and several years within the Bujinkan now....but I prefer stomping kicks to the lower frame.

Easier to hide, faster to execute, and they provide a lot more driving power than anything like that could.

I'd rather stomp you in the guts or thigh, follow up with a throw, chin shot, or rising knee from a clinch and get the fight done than waste time with that silliness.

That's impressive and looks great but is only good for show. Theres no power in the kicks and his hands are down the entire time.
You could counter this the same way that you would counter most other TKD kicks. Simply step inside the kicking distance and push him. He'll fall flat on his butt.

I can kick like that, but it wouldn't be effective for my style or for many fighting situations.
You mention that it is for Olympic style TKD sparring, so to that end, I can see its effectiveness. Point sparring requires no root or power, but prefers speed. That being the case, it's cool.
The kicker keeps his head fairly level the entire time, which is good form as well. That is difficult for most to accomplish when shifting stances, much less performing aerial techniques.

I can kick like this if I so desired but I am not trying out for a dance team. I prefer to make my kicks effective.
This kicks have no penetration, they are way off the center line, the guys hands are down and his center line is completely open.

I am really hoping this is just an exercise or drill because if this is an actual kick his teacher should ashamed.

No. This kick is totally useless. It doesn't have much power behind it. Yes I know it hurt but it's very unlikely it will do any serious damage. The guy leave his hands down with his face widely open for a well placed punch. Most skilled fighter would have taken those kicks without any problem to step forward and knock him out cold.

Those kicks have very little power. In a situation like that i would take that person down. Then they are screwed cause they have no clue what they are doing.

I do TKD, Hapkido, Kickboxing and MMA and no I can't do that. I can do about three. They don't have a lot of power but they will serve you well in WTF tournaments. The reason I teach this technique is because it can be a good part of a great workout.

That kick is only good scoring points and does little to nothing to the opponent.

that kick is flashy, but ineffective.

Geez...no, I can't kick lick that. I'd more than likely fall on my behind or dislocate my hip or something painful! :-O
