I am a Christian as well as my future wife, and we love each other so much. We don't have sex anymore, although we have had it before and have recognized it as sinful. However, is living together sinful? We will be married oneday, and I need to know some input. Thanks

Hard liners who have know ability to take into consideration context are gonna tell you it is sin. Since sin is an archery term meaning to hit the target anywhere except dead center then perhaps they have a small point but only you know for sure. Here is the context of scripture concerning this. Governments had no part in marriage so no liciense. People lived in areas where there was not access to"church type buildings" or to religious teachers on an easy basis. Marriage was among the families and the daughters were given by the fathers to whomever the father thought was good. Often 12 yr old girls were given to pretty old men who could afford to care for them. Monogamy was not the law of the land and way more was different then. You then have to ask what of that context can we actually say applys today with our context. You ask and you answer cuz I certainly do not see how this can translate to your situation, maybe if I knew you two and your families.

If sex without marriage was a sin then you have already committed it. As long as you are going to get married for the rest of your lives then you need to get to know your future spouse better before you make a bigger mistake and marry for the wrong reasons. This means being realistic and knowing when to break off a temporary relationship without hurting each others feeling if you both feel that it will not work out between the two of you.
that also means finding out if it is just temporary lust or real love that has drawn you to each other.

I don't personally think it's sinful, but I know many people do.

What I'd like to know is this: if you believe that sex outside of marriage is sinful, you are concerned about cohabitation being sinful, and you say you will be married "oneday," why aren't you married now? Or at least engaged and living together due to economy reasons? I'm not trying to throw stones, but the logic isn't connecting for me.

There is evidence scripturally that the Jews did not have sex with their betrothed until after a marriage ceremony. Also isn't it common sence that a woman should not commit herself to the possibility of having a child with a man who wont even commit himself by marrying her? Why don't you just get married? You don't need a big expensive bash.

Get married or break up... why the drama? Either you are or your not going to get married... and since you both seem to have a lot of baggage about sin, then you should make that decision now or move on.

Hmm... depends on how you think and perceive your religious teachings. I know you love her and want to have a good life with her (or you wouldn't be asking this), so I think it isn't sinful from your heart. Love isn't a sin.

The Bible says to abstain from all appearances of evil..you may not be having sex anymore...but there is that appearance.
If you love each other so much..then all I can say is try to do things God's way.

the flesh is weak, by u living with her is just a matter of time before u start fornicating again. Don't put your trust in your strenght, mind, heart they are going to betray u.
I suggest u marry her first, that's how GOD would really want it. God bless u, i hope u make the right decion.

No. How can sex be sinful if God wants you to procreate or unless you're saving that for marriage.

Depends on what you believe, but everyone sins, and God expects you to sin. Otherwise you wouldn't be a human being. Don't stress yourself over it. Just live your life.
