Aspartame may trigger, mimic, or cause the following illnesses:
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Epstein-Barr
Post-Polio Syndrome
Lyme Disease
Grave’s Disease
Meniere’s Disease
Alzheimer’s Disease
ALS
Epilepsy
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
EMS
Hypothyroidism
Mercury sensitivity from Amalgam fillings
Fibromyalgia
Lupus
non-Hodgkins
Lymphoma
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

These are not allergies or sensitivities, but diseases and disease syndromes. Aspartame poisoning is commonly misdiagnosed because aspartame symptoms mock textbook ‘disease’ symptoms, such as Grave’s Disease.

Aspartame changes the ratio of amino acids in the blood, blocking or lowering the levels of serotonin, tyrosine, dopamine, norepinephrine, and adrenaline. Therefore, it is typical that aspartame symptoms cannot be detected in lab tests and on x-rays. Textbook disorders and diseases may actually be a toxic load as a result of aspartame poisoning.

Ever gone to the doctor with real, physical symptoms, but he/she can’t find the cause? Well, it’s probably your diet, your environment, or both.

I don't think there has been a specific link made between aspartame and cancer, but it is known to have neurological effects, some quite serious. It and other "flavor enhancing" food additives work by overstimulating your brain and nerve cells until they die. That is why they are sometimes referred to as "excitotoxins." I did read of one study that shows rates of breast and prostate cancer, as well as conditions such as autism, were negligible until the food industry began including massive amounts of these food additives into their products. I advise you to do a google search with the term "excitotoxins" and see what you find out. In general for health, it has been shown that drinkers of diet drinks are no more healthy or even thinner than drinkers of regular soft drinks. If health is your concern, I suggest cutting out all soft drinks and drinking water. You may also want to be aware that a preservative, sodium benzoate, which is added to virtually all soft drinks, diet or not, has been shown in recent studies to have a severely damaging effect on cell mitochondria. This means that not only are your cells damaged, but the damage is passed on through your DNA if you have any children. Read up on it and make your own decision.

All of the "fake sugars" are bad for you because your body doesn't know what to do with them, that's why the body stores it up and gives you cancer over it. It's more complicated than that but the FDA said for years that saccharin was safe even though it causes cancer (for fact) in lab rats. Think about all those rats with cancer. Pity.

Why di it when sugar has only 16 calories per teaspoon.(Tablespoon, one of them) That's hardly anything. The thing you need to worry about is the processed foods that already have the sugar in them (soda, cookies, treats...)

Sugar can be addicting so watch out.

Alo=most everyting as been ruled as a carcinogen. People react differently then the rats they test this crap on. It is all good. That being said Smoking really does cause cancer but look at how many people don't care about that but they are worried about diet cola. Go figure

I've heard that. Don't know if it was ever proven, but I don't think artificial sweeteners are good for you. Some people say they aggravate arthritis and other ailments.

No, it's not good for you, but in reasonable amounts it's not dangerous... Many things that we eat every day can harm us if consumed in large quantity...
