Well, many of the people that come to this country don't speak english, or very little. Companies out there will not attract customers (no matter what race they are) if they didnt have bilingual personnel. Some of the hispanic population feel more comfortable speaking spanish with someone than trying to understand english. I am Cuban, and when I came I had trouble understanding the language. I agree with the fact that since we are in the US we should speak English and get used to the way people live here. But I also think that Inmigration helps the economy of this country. Many of the hard jobs out there are only perfomed by hispanics because of the conditions with the weather and other factors. I don't agree with the fact that my taxes go to help some people who are taking advantage of the government with food stamps, but IT IS NOT only the hispanics who do it. African-Americans that were born in this country do it too. I am not racist, I can't be. But Inmigration has positive and negatives aspects for the US. Some people come to this country looking for succes, like I did. Some other people come here just to mess everything up. Those are the kind of people I am against. As long as everyone has a job, pays taxes, and doesn't disturbed me, I am fine with Inmigration.

1 for Chipewyan, 2 for Apache, 3 for Cheroenhaka, 5 for Cherokee, 6 for Cheyenne, 8 for... and so on....

You should be pressing 1235 for english, due all the NATIVE cultures that were eliminated all over North America.
Remember that either you or your family are INMIGRANTS too, and your country was built upon INMIGRANTS.

The only difference is that you think that you are above everyone now, but remember how did your family arrived to the U.S.: ignorant poor european people looking for a better way of life. The same as the people that is migrating to your country.

- Now you can feel a 0.001 % of what the native americans felt

Have a good day ! ;)

I wonder as well. When my great grandparents immigrated here from Italy they did it legally. They came here and learned to speak English and got jobs and didn't ask any one for anything.

Why isn't it still this way? I know they do not want to "give up their culture" but frankly in my opinion it is their burden. Now that PR is a state it makes this problem even worse. They are now a part of the US BUT they think they make up more of it than they do. They think speaking only Spanish and US citizens paying taxes for them to have interpreters is their divine right. Why is that?

The more important question is why I should have to dianose my computer's, read any electronic device you can think of, problem before I talk to a real person. And what's with the lists that don't have my reason for calling in them and don't allow me to dial a real person.
And as for supporting families with your taxes, it's not only spanish people, I know lots of people that use public assistence, some because they have to and others because it's easy. Just be glad the government doesn't take more of our money, there are some countries that have a 40% income tax.

I hear you. It's absolutely disgusting the way so much of what we see and hear is in both English and Spanish and a lot of it just in Spanish. English is the official language in this country. Learn it! English isn't the only language spoken in this country -- that's true but Spanish isn't the only OTHER language spoken here either. I don't see the same concessions made for French, German, Italian, etc. Even product packaging now is in English and Spanish. It's outrageous!

Because just in case you haven't looked around, America is made up of different people and races! Its always white people that come up with these types of questions?......I myself am Hispanic and proud to speak Spanish and English! You should start some like Spanish lessons or something maybe you can learn something new and press 2 for Spanish lol! Or go learn some other language so you can be bilingual! Good Luck !
