It won't be effective because the dosing is all wrong. You're going to end up with an abscess and terrible pain. Then the bacteria will get resistant to the antibiotic you've been using a long time and the antibiotics won't work at all. Then you will have a terrible infection. If he has to pull it like that you will truly know pain. People have been in the hospital for weeks over this sort of thing to get antibiotics via IV. Its painful and expensive.

Try another dentist. Go to an endodontists. They may be able to save your tooth. If you've gotten a second opinion and the answer is the same its time to face the music and pull them.

Any kind of pain killer is not a long term solution; dogs would have told you if they could talk! Don't delay the suggested treatment lest you face aggravated or traumatized situation. If going for extraction and immediate dental implant, only your dentist can tell about thickness of jawbone and whether you are a good candidate. If you are also feeling the pinch on cost of treatment, search the net for Dental Work Overseas and do your cost comparisons with a break.

Yes this is completely safe & effective.....in my family we've been using it for years & no one has gotten sick from it. Check the dosage on the pills you have & adjust them to yourself, the average dosage for an adult human is about 500 mg twice a day, best w food. Most fishmox that Ive used came in 250 mg capsules so I took 2 twice a day & it works very very well on tooth problems....BEST OF LUCK!!

As the first reply correctly states, you are messing dangerously with your health by taking repeated courses of antibiotics, whether for humans or animals. Every year or so, I see patients like this who eventually end up with massive infections and who get sent to the central hospital for IV antibots, drains, and oral surgery. Yes, you can be lucky for a while, but so is Russian Roulette. Please do something definitive about the cause of your infections (RCT or extraction), before you end up similarly.

NO!!! Amoxicillan is an antibiotic and the milligram is based on weight...you and your pet weighing the same is unlikely. Teeth can be replaced the day they are pulled. You have to go to a maxilliofacial surgeon and they will extract and do permanent implant teeth that day...however it's very expensive

As to taking pet amoxicillin, I would say that although they are the same thing, and it probably wouldnt KILL you or anything, it would basically be pointless for the simple fact that its going to be a different dosage than a dr would give the average human.
