I have had it, but didnt realize it so it was a year before i finally went to the doctor, by then it had turned to depression. I had a bad car accident in may "2003", in which I nearly killed my 2 yr old son and 6 month old daughter, every night afterward when i was in bed I would relive it, I could actually feel the car sliding out, and i had the same feeling as I did the day it happened. In may "2004" I finally went to the doctor, I am still on antidepressants, I feel so much better and dont think of the accident anymore, though I still cannot drive on gravel roads.

You don't get over it. You accept the fact of the trauma, and decide where you want to go from that point on. It will be one of the hardest roads you walk down. Fear will make you stand by the side of that road and go nowhere. You have to choose to face it.

This may sound flippant but, I attribute my semi-social limited skill of winning friends & influencing people to this life-long post tramatic stress disorder of the c-section at the hospital. I slapped the doctor & took a cab home. It's been one long hassle ever since. As soon as I come out of shock, I'm delving directly into jet lag. One more 'Uncle Rick's Steak Sauce' (Johnnie Walker Red) & a beer, thanks.

sorry stacia not quite sure what you mean by post-trauma.---have I been traumatized..you betcha..how long to get over it...I don't know..there are some hurts that never really go away...it's sorta like a broken leg...you always have the limp.
But I don't even know if I'm answering your question:)
