it really sounds like sjogren's. The dry mouth is keeping bacteria fom washing away from your gums. You need dental care plus artificial mucous drops.

no...have you been to a dentist office?...make an appointment to see the dental hygenist there...and find out. It could be a physiological symptom of an underlying physical problem....just a lay opinion, but sounds like an endocrin (spelling?) issue --- liver?
Other than the black spots (which should make you want to see an internist FAST)...just for the gums----In the meantime, do you shower? If you do,--- every time you do, open your mouth and let the hard shower of water hit your gums--for at least 1 minute---3 is best. This seems to work better than any other kind of massage to the gums. I have a propensity of getting genivitius...the gum disease...but when I do this 'shower (pic) massage', my gums stay healthy!
I often wonder why that "tree bark" the polynesian people chew on to keep their gums and teeth strong and healthy...isn't made available commercially for the rest of the world. (probably are kept from the masses to keep us stop purchasing the huge marketing products it would replace.).. a good question. Yey! ;o)

What is your ethnicity? Black splotches are normal for some groups who also have pigmented skin.
Dry mouth can come from any one of a couple hundred medications or also from higher than normal sugar intake.
Are you taking any prescription meds? Do you drink a glass of soda or sweet tea within 4 to 6 hours of going to bed?
Otherwise, advanced HIV comes to mind, but you'd certainly know about that by now if you had it.

FLOSS!! More important then brushing 4 time a day. It is a pain at first but once you are in the habit it just becomes routine.
