it is smooth and firm, size of a kidney bean, 1-2cm and oval shape. found it 5 months ago, just waiting a biopsy till next month. its painless . any ideas

Could be a blocked or infected Saliva gland maybe. Or it could be cancer, or could be a harmless tumor. Wish you luck. Keep positive thoughts.

A little lump was all my father had. His wife though works in radiology she insisted he check it out. the caught his cancer connected to the base of his tongue (back of the throat) when it was 1cm by 3 cm.

Have it checked out. Es specially in your ear, nose and throat area. A hard area to operate on in a worst case scenario.

Thepossibility of a thyroglossal duct cyst exists, although the usual one is a bit lower but attached to the base of the tongue. It is perfectly benign.

got 2 of them just hoping fatty tumors but till I get insurance I don't have time to bother with them (they have bin in there for years)hope you have good luck will say a prayer 4 ya
