A teacher should generate respect, not demand it. Most teachers do generate respect. Many of us still stop and say 'Namaskar' or Hello to some our few surviving school teachers who taught us some 20 to 25 years ago. It is the poignant relationship we had in those days. But the commercialisation (private tuition) has degenerated this relationship these days. Further the politicisation of student movements have worsened the matter. The relationship that exists now more of the sort between a service provider and customer.

WHY there is a doubt, it has to be a teacher and student only,
the teacher to give knowledge, and make the student wise, in all the subjects the teacher is assigned, and the student with all respect to the teacher, learn, that which leads him / her into a perfect child of God.

Only that, a teacher and a student (unless they are related, and then of course outside of school they should continue to have the family relationship). Not close friends, not intimately personal.

well it's better to keep it as friends but not extremely close that may lead to *** but if both are cool about the relationship it is better to get engaged it happened at our college and now they both live happily well there was a controversy then between her parents and the teacher but now everything has been solved but the teacher was still a bachelor and was only 29

True professionalism with a bit of encouragement if you feel the student is bright or a bit of authority if you feel the student is going beyond his limits...never beat them up...maintain a good respect with all of them...and make sure your class is interactive!!
All the Best :)

Just that--teacher and student. Not friends or pals. No hanging around together.
