How about this theory. Boys who are raised without fathers are taught to rely on their mother's for everything. When the boy grows up, instead of being men, they become big boys looking for a surrogate mother.

A lot of guys today are lazy and wannabee players. For some, if they meet a girl who is willing to spoil them and take care of them, they get the big-head and think they are some sort of mack or pimp or something. What they should do is: take advantage of the "free ride" and really try to improve their lifestyle since the girl is trying to help them out and show some love. But many guys already have to spend money left and right for bills, food, transportation, rent, etc... and then have to right around and spend their last little bit of cash on a woman for dates, entertainment, gifts, or whatever, and they've been doing it for years... even if the woman makes more money! She expects it. But why can't the woman be romantic sometimes? Why can't she spend some of her money and time on a good man? Why can't she prove her worth? A lot of guys are sick of working so hard to try to impress women who turn out to be gold-diggers, hoodrats, and players. Or even worse, a nagging hard-headed woman who thinks she is a prize just because she has a good job, car, and house. A lot of men have the same thing. But it doesn't make them good men. It only means that they are responsible people (if they pay their bills on time). The woman can be a good woman, but if she is hard-headed, nagging, and demanding, she's still not worth two cents, because she'll still cause a lot of stress in the guys life... and now he's done wasted his hard-earned money and time for nothing... Trying to impress a girl who decided she liked someone else or that they just didn't "click". Furthermore, if women would stop trying to date thugs, or impress their friends with a "Denzel" or "Brad Pitt" or whoever, and date a guy for his mind and not his looks (as men do when choosing women) then maybe they might end up with a good man the first time.
My girlfriend and I have no problem spending money on each other - We take care of each other. She makes sure I'm not hungry, broke, or bored, and I make sure of the same things for her. I'm not a player, and I don't try to take advantage of women, but I expect a woman to show me some love and treat me right.
A real woman knows what men have had to go through all of these years, young women are still trying to find out...
But it is a shame that everybody just wants a "free-ride" instead of trying to be helping and supportive of each other.
I'm rambling I know... I apologize.
What's wrong with wanting to live "The Player's Lifestyle"?

there are plenty of good men out there, but as people have said it's about equal rights. Why should the man use all his paycheck to pay for everything on a date, while a woman gets a free ride and then buys a pair of shoes or something. Now I'm not saying men or women should be cheap bastards but equality goes along way, say a man pays for three dinners, maybe you should treat him at least once to show some respect

Men nowadays are getting what a lot of us older men didn't get. Women got more dependable men back years ago but us men didn't get much in return. Women dictated the sex life which was usually boring and the social life but guys today are not excepting that. Men want open minded about sex and equal rights why should men have to support the family and take on the total burden men are willing to share.

Wow! And I thought I was the only one thinking that way. If it's happening in ur neck of the woods, then I must say the MALES have definitely changed morally. They have become disrectpectful, insonsiderate, abusive and real worse.
But I believe that somewhere out there, that there are still a few good men who are opposite of what I've just mentioned.

Most men reach their maturity by the time our biological clock runs out. The good men that are in such short supply end up hurt by women who have no clue. last but not least when men and women finally do find each other they spend so much time tryin to change one another, or prove who's right that they waste away the precious love that drew them together leaving only hate and resentment.

i have never met the kind of men u described.all i met were real gentlemen, took care of me and were polite and attentive. the only problem with some of them - they didn't have enough money to afford me.and your problem obviously is probably u let them to behave that way around u. so u always get what u give. instead of blabbering here about some not smart things maybe u should look at yourself more carefully. u re doing smth wrong.

Hey, I agree with you... Our culture seems to discourage true masculinity and seems to be pushing both sexes to a genderless commonality. True masculinity and true femininity are some of the safe guards against deception. A feminine guy is gullible and lacks the strength to stand up for what is right. A masculine women is brash and lacks insight. I'm currently searching for what it means to be a "true man" with integrity.
