but, I lick or chew that off too. Any advice as to how I break this habit?

The first thing is to get the scaly parts off your lips. Take a wash rag and wet it, use your fingers and srub at your lips. That takes away the rough stuff that you might want to bite.

Second, start drinking lots of water. Water is the key to good health and good skin. Your lips are chapped out of dehydration. It will take a good couple of weeks to get them ship shape.

Once these two things are done, you will feel like you have new lips. It will be eaiser to concentrate on not licking them :)

Some psych meds cause this, if you are on psych meds you need to talk with your doctor about it.

Vegetable oil is less expensive and the body knows how to digest it if dryness is the problem.

You just have to tell yourself not to do it. My son used to have the same problem, he played hockey and in the winter it looked like he was huffing.

Some one said something about it one day at school and he had to see the psychologist for an evaluation. He trained himself to not do it.
