Did you see that the Court refused to block Arizona's voter ID law?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060912/ap_o...

I think this is just common sense, that if federal law requires people to be citizens, states can require proof of that. However, it is a major case, all the same.

What do you think?

"A federal judge on Monday refused to block a law that requires Arizona voters to present identification before casting a ballot.

U.S. District Judge Roslyn Silver's order came a day before Tuesday's primary, the first statewide election for which voters will be required to show identification. The law has already been used in some municipal elections.

The 2004 law requires that voters at polling places produce government-issued picture ID or two pieces of other non-photo identification specified by the law. "

I accidentally posted this earlier in 'politics', but meant to post here.

A little bit of common sense still survives, in a branch of governement of all places.

You can't open a simple bank account without a photo ID. I would hope that exercising one's right to vote would be considered much more important than that, and would warrant photo ID verification..

DAR, I specifically look for your posts on here because you keep us so informed on the most up-to-date stuff that is going on regarding the different towns and states who are standing up for their people and doing something to combat illegal immigration and I love to read the news you bring us! I don't even mind when I hear about the states and cities who declare themselves as "sanctuaries" for illegals because as more and more cities and states enact laws to drive the illegals out, the illegals will be congregating more and more in those "sanctuaries." It won't be long before those areas will be singing a different tune when they find themselves footing the entire bill for all the illegals they enticed.

Bad policy is bad policy, and the whole mosaic sure looks as though they're deliberately turning a blind eye and blurring the US/Mexico borderline. Be sure to vote in favor of immigration enforcement and jobsite enforcement! It's working, in some areas, mainly where it's been tried. No job/no handouts=no incentive to come to america illegally.

We need the voter ID law here because there are millions of illegals. It should be the law everywhere though. I have to show my id to cash a check etc.

I am glad about this. I received all my information, my voter registration and location, details of propositions and who I will vote for.

And from the previous post you asked what it had to do with the Minutemen? Nothing at all.. The question was fact less, so I posted something unrelated in a way.. and shock.. you were the only one who read it.
