My kitty, Punkin' Head has some very strange habits since she was born.. they seemed to calm down , but now that my boyfriend is away for a long period of time, she is acting out again!
First, She is obsessive about knocking things off tables or or shelves.... if I am sleeping and she wants me awake she will keep pushing things onto the floor until I get up! Also she has never Meow'd.. her mouth opens but nothing but a raspy dry little sound comes out. ... the most challenging behavior she has had since My boyfriend left is she acts as if she is punishing me when I get home from work.. she stalks me but wont let me touch her, she bites me even sometimes... which she never did before. She follows me everywhere and if I dont let her in the bathroom with me she pounds on the door! she insists that I watch her when she eats.. and watches to make sure I watch... I love her very much I have had her since I got divorced four years ago but I need to know what can make her normal

we have always been great even with her issues.. but now that he is gone she treats me like she thinks its my fault he is gone. (he was home with her when i was at work all night) so I understand that she is lonely at night, but I cant do anything about it. I try to spend time after work with her before bed but she just sits by me and stares.. wont let me pet her much. She is fixed already so I know she is not in heat.

Cats are curious creatures. They do find ways to punish people when things in their lives change. How old is the kitty? If she is still a kitten, she will grow up a bit, if not, then there are some other things you can do. First, have you thought about adding another kitty to your home? My cat is very OCD and gets seperation anxiety and is better since we got a new kitten to keep him company. About the bad behavior, use a squirt bottle with water and spray her when she misbehaves. Praise her when she is being good. As for wanting to be with you in the restroom, my cat does that too - I just take it as a sign that he doesn't like to be seperated from me. Perhaps that is what is going on?

i trust that a number of Punkin` Heads habit, shows that she is spoiled, and Sassy, yet that`s "ok" quite prevalent of maximum kitties. It`s the stalking, and under no circumstances letting you contact her,or maybe biting you at circumstances that makes one ask your self, if she has worms, or something that`s, annoying her besides, what does her Vet imagine? also, does she have a listening to situation? in view that she seem to have some speech obstacle with her meows, I`ll guess she`s the cutest sweety pie ever, confident desire someone has some efficient solutions to make all of it more beneficial positive for you,and Punkin `Head. take care.

I had a similar problem and tried to solve it by buying a kitten for companionship, but it didn't work so well. The original cat was too jealous and wouldn't accept the kitten. Have you tried keeping the radio tuned to some soothing music or to a more mellow talk radio station so she has something or someone to listen to when you aren't home? And ditto on the lots of cuddles and soothing talk when you are home. Does she have a nice cushy cat bed? Our cats love their beds.
Good luck!

she is acting out, but gentle soothing tones from you might work. when you go to work leave on the television. and perhaps you might think about getting a kitty for her. they love companions. i have a 5 mos. old, a 10 week old and a 3 weeks old. they are hilarious together. they are all different sizes and they love each other. your cat is not a kitty anymore if you had her for atleast four years. she's getting old there and may be bored. just keep loving on her and even if she tries to bite, continue to try to holdher and pet her.

Seems like she is definitely missing your bf. Maybe she is afraid you might leave her too.

Certain cats at the San Francisco SPCA where I was trained in the behavior department were "affection eaters". They would only eat when someone was present.

I have a cat with a meowless voice too. It's like she's always hoarse. I know she isn't sick or anything.

I work in a Vet Clinic, the best thing is to get a cat pheromone that is calming. So she is comforted. We have them in a wall plug in, just like a air freshener. It has no odor we can detect. Call your vet and ask if you can pick up the cat pheromone. It will help with the transition, also help you bond with her again.

Your cat sounds like she's yurning for affection give it some time, usually when a pet feels abandoned they get obsessive like what you had described, and possilbly she could be in heat by the behavior she is having. She'll just have to get used to you with time.

Give her plenty of attention. Cats love time.... TIME is all that matters to them. Can you take a day off work? Call in sick and stay around one day and give her a lot of attention and cuddle time. More time and she'll be okay. She's afraid you will leave her forever too. Prove that wrong. Leave your dirty clothes out so she can smell your scent. That will help with her comfort level

She's grieving over the loss of your bf.

Give her LOTS of cuddles!
