I like the UFC better the guys have ground skills and are heavy hitters my experience with pride(1-5) is that they roll around on the ground too much not enough action now maybe this has changed since I'm new to Pride but have been a UFC fan since day one

I think you can't say one fighter is better than the other unless they have fought. Maybe not even then. A fighter can have an iff night, slip up, make a tiny mistake and it can cost the fight. You hear fighters say, he would win 9/10 but sometimes that 1/10 comes up. Every fight is different, and no fighter is the same after a win or loss.
UFC and PFC rules are nearly identical. I think both can be exciting to watch. I like Pride alot cause stomps and ground kicks add more realism and are exciting to see. I like UFC's octagon, and elbows (elbows are very important in ground and pound and clinch).
I like Liddell in the UFC. He will capitolize on even the most minor of split second mistakes. Also his takedown defense is unparalleled in the sport, However, I wish his fights would go longer cause you only get to see 5 mins or less.
I like Fedor in Pride because hes one of the most vicious fighters out there. He is all about pushing the pace and unrelenting strikes.
I think overall Pride has better fighters, BUT the UFC gives more opportunity to up and coming fighters to showcase their skills and learn from their losses.

At the top level, I'd say PRIDE...their heavyweight champ, Fedor Emelienko, is the guy I currently consider to be the baddest man on the planet. He'd easily beat Tim Sylvia IMO. I'd probably give any of the top heavys in PRIDE the edge in a hypothetical matchup with "The Maine-iac". Josh Barnett, Antonio Rodgrio Noguiera would definitely be able to hold their own. I've never been a huge fan of recent PRIDE Open Weight Gran Prix winner Mirko "Cro Cop" Fillipovic but you can't argue with the way he destroyed a complete bada** in Wanderlei Silva and handled another top heavyweight in Josh Barnett on the same night. I'd also give the aforementioned Silva the edge against Chuck Liddell.
PRIDE--particularly at the heavyweight level--has a lot more legitimate contenders to the top spot. Assuming his hand injury has healed up properly, there ain't no one in the world beating Fedor for awhile but at least he's got some legit condtenders. Once you get past the champions, its a big drop in class to the top contenders on the current UFC roster.
Once you get down the roster, UFC is more competitive. Historically, I'd say that PRIDE has done a better job developing young talent but that might have as much to do with the longer history of MMA in Japan--they were doing MMA decades ago (before it was even *called* MMA). Now, the UFC is doing a good job developing younger fighters and exposing them to their fans through their "Ultimate Fighter" TV show...below the top level PRIDE and UFC have a different *type* of fighter by and large: UFC has more "hybrid" MMA fighters, while PRIDE has more guys with a background in the Asian based martial arts like judo.
Hopefully at some point, however, we'll be able to settle this argument in the ring! (or the "octagon" as the case may be...)

Pride definately has more great fighters! Pride is worldwide while the UFC is just the US, or fighters who have moved to train in the US. UFC has some great fighters but there are so few right now that we are forced to see rematch after rematch just to see a decent fight. In Pride there are still rematches but most are a result of tournaments. 16 fighters fight, then 8, then finally there is a big finale where the last 4 fight and the winners then fight again in the same night and a champion is crowned, so rematches are a result of the best fighters making to finals year after year.
But I would say they both have a number a great fighters but Pride definately has more talented scrappers than UFC

in all honesty, Overeem will very own any UFC heavyweight Anderson Silva will very own any Strikeforce middleweight and LHW i've got faith that Gilbert Melendez will win against Frankie Edgar. Nick Diaz vs GSP would be an exciting one, yet i think of GSP gets the win. Jon Jones will obliterate Dan Henderson or Feijao or King Mo advertising smart, UFC is larger and more suitable. Strikeforce spent too lots money on their fighters and as a result's now in difficulty and basically have been given offered with the help of Zuffa (UFC's parent business enterprise)

Pride not only has better fighters, but the better rules help make better fights. In the UFC, one cannot knee to the head in the north/south position and no soccerkicks are the two biggest differences. Pride does not allow elbows to the head on the ground (ground and pound), but that's understandable because ground-and-pound isn't exciting. It's more like watching a street or sibbling fight than MMA. Pride also throws around those yellow (stalling) cards like there's no tomorrow which keeps the action rolling along better than the UFC. And lastly, Pride will show 8-10 fights on their card with minimal interviews, while the UFC cares more about interviews, celebrity opinions and bootie-cam which takes up valuable fight time. If I want to hear from a celebrity I'll watch Oprah and if I want to watch bootie I'll watch Playboy TV.....it has no place in the fight game.

I think Pride does. They have the Noguiera brothers, the Emelianenko brothers, Mirko Cro Cop, Dan Hednderson, Vitor Belfort, Rua brothers, Phil Baroni, Takanori Gomi, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman, Josh Barnett, Ikuhisa Minowa among others.
UFC has Rich Franklin, Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre, Bj Penn, Jens Pulver among a few others.
I am huge fans of both. I don't like one better than the other. They both have exciting fights, but PRIDE does have the better fighters.

Pride does. Just look at their records and who they have fought. Usually if a UFC fighter fights a Pride fighter, the UFC person looses.
