if my carrier's height is off by an inch, what happens? it's a soft-sided carrier for my cat to travel in, which is pretty flexible. the length and width are fine. an airline agent told me that when you check in with the pet, they do a quick run-through of precautions to make sure everything is safe.

my cat is 11 lbs, and the max is 20, so she has plenty of room, which is important to me because i want her to be comfortable. are they really going to measure the bag? do i need to buy a small one which may make her uncomfortable?

by the by, i did ask the airline, and they quoted me the dimensions. i know it will fit under the seat. the stupid thing is, its the Sherpa brand bag, which is meant for flying.. ridiculous.

I've always heard the rule is that it must fit under the seat. If it will squish down, I would think that would work. But your best bet is to call the airline you will be flying with and ask them specifically. You would hate to get to the airport and find out that the carrier isn't acceptable.

The animal must have enuf room to be able to turn around in the carrier and fit under the seat. Those soft sided Sherpa carriers are approved on airlines. Most airlines charge a fee for carry on pets. Check their website.
