i have to take a young girl to the zoo tomorrow for like most of the day...the problem is she's wild and likes to run around. i'm afraid i'll lose her. i was thinking about letting her sit on my shoulders all day, but would she get bored up there?

You could try what my friend does. Tell said kid that if she is good all day, at the end of the day, she can have $5 to spend on anything she wants. Only trick is, each time you have to scold her, she loses a dollar (Or whatever increment you choose.) You could think of it as positive reinforcement for good behavior. It always seems to keep kids in check!

Yes, she will get bored, and you will get tired. I think you are expecting the worst. At a zoo, she will be too busy to run off. She will want to show you the animals.
Before you go in, ask her who she would ask for help if she got lost. Point out the staff uniforms, and also tell her that she can ask someone else's mom for help if she gets lost.
If you are really worried, you can also write her contact info right on her hand with a marker. I do this when I am camping, so kids can be returned to our lot if we get separated.

make her a deal if she behave at the zoo she will get a treat like whatever she loves or something keep her distracted don't let her sit on your shoulders she will get tired of it but hey try it lol it might work or a leash lol well good luck and have fun

well she's a very active kid .... ... its not very educated if u bargain her with money ... its better if u talk and give her an explanation what a consequences if she doesnt listen u ...
u can hold her hand and dont let her away in ur sight.... and u can let her sit on ur shoulder its good ... but it will tire u .....but its ok. anyway she will enjoy your company if u make her day fun ... she wont bored at all.
