No. Unfortunately, you'll have to leave him with someone while you're at basic training.

if you are a single parent, you cannot even enlist period. Only the Army National Guard or Air Force Reserves will take single parents, BUT you must have a long term Family Care plan in effect, whereby you designate someone to take care of your child 24/7. If you have no one available, then you may not enlist in either of these branches.
If you wish to enlist in the regular service, you may NOT have custody of your child. You may NOT give up custody for the sole purpose of enlisting and you may NOT get custody back for the entire first term of your enlistment..up to 6 years.
it isn't just basic training.. there is also your follwo on training where you cannot bring family members. Plus let's not forget deployments and other training evolutions.

If you have no one to leave him with what would you do if you were deployed overseas? Maybe the military isn't the best choice for you right now. There is no way you can take a child to boot camp with you. I don't think a recruiter can even enlist you as a single mom.

Well, I've had my laugh for the day ! Thanks !
One of the first things a DI will tell you
( nose to nose ) when you pile off the bus at boot camp is:
" WE ARE NOT YOUR BABYSITTER !
IF YOU NEED A BABYSITTER,
GET BACK ON THAT BUS !"
I commend you for wanting to serve your country; but unless you have someone to sign temporary custody of your baby over to...you wouldn't even get to take the entrance tests at a recruiting office. That's just the way it is.
Boot camp is for the basic training for the military; roughly 18 hard hours a day....it is NOT a place for a baby..the idea of a baby there wouldn't even be allowed .... So please don't embarrass yourself by even asking a recruiter.

No. You have to be able to devote your full time and attention to the training that you will be attending. You can't join as a single parent. You will have to leave your child with someone, legally and in writing, and then apply for custody at a later time/date.

You can not even join unless you give temporary custody to some one, unless you are married to the father.

I am sorry, but there are no options, except to get married, but that is not a good choice.
