Very shy and quiet girl. Flirts a bit. Smiles alot when I see her. I've caught her looking at me at lunch. I'm taking her to homecoming. I've been told she'll try to not talk to me in the hallway to kinda bug me/play with my head. Tonight, one of my friends found out that she doesn't like me. Or at least, according to whoever told her. Whats the sense in her acting how she acts, and not liking me? Is her friend just covering for her? Thanks.

Man at your age it could be either of those things.
Here's what to do. Go up to her and ask her a few things about homecoming. Then ask her to go out before homecoming and see what she says. If she doesn't go for it, ask her if she is interested in your or not. Then you'll really have your answer from the person it should come from.
Don't take info like this from second hand sources. You never know who has a motive to give you false information intentionally or unintentionally.

If you are taking her to homecoming then I am assuming that the two of you are or were dating. I would take her aside and ask her how she feels. What her or your friends find out are not important only she knows the answer.

Don't listen to the chinese whispers from ur friends! Just go with ur instinct n see what she does; not what someone says someone else says she said! Have fun it sounds like she's flirtin with u in her own way... being shy can really suck cuz when ur shy u tend to blush a bit n when u blush u get even shier cuz dammit ur blushing AGAIN. She's all about you buddy. Get your confidence back and act like the person she sees in you. Strong, self-assured, dynamic, smart, protective, considerate, sensitive, great sense of humor, not stuffy or conceited. Just treat her like a lady and behave like a gentleman. It will be great.

Probably total BS from someone who wants you or likes her or dosen't like one of you. The proof is in your realtionship. As Van Morrison says "Doesn't matter what they say. Doesn't matter what they do. All that matters is my relationship to you!"

Don't depend on what her friends are telling you. For all you know, they could want you for themselves! (not that they do or anything) =] But the point is.. ask her yourself, and see what she really has to say about it. If wouldn't hurt to ask.

she's either manipulating you (perhaps to get a date for homecoming?) or is scared of rejection and doesn't want you to think that she likes you.
