Lifetime warranty means that the product is warranted against defects for as long as the company is still selling the product or as long as the lifetime of the product which is for sale.
Example, the original sony memory stick. Nowadays, it is being replaced by MS Pro Duo, etc. Sony has stopped producing the product, thus the original memory stick will not be under warranty.

Some "life time warranty's" are as good as gold. Zippo and Leatherman are just 2 examples. In today's IT era though, it may mean the life time of the company. I have out lasted a few all ready.

Yes. you can get life time warranty, so long as you still can find the company after decade. so, better look for those established brand products.
