Excuse me now, but a person, as uncaring as you to leave a pet in the car, no matter what the reason is, shouldn't have a pet. The animal can die of heat exposure, and I am not surprised it ate your upholstery, may you have learnt a valuable lesson. Leave pet at home, where it is safe

You dont mention the weather where you live, but i hope its not hot. Dont leave the dog and then blame it for being bored or untrained. when you see horrible, bratty kids running into you and everything else in the Walmart, do you get annoyed with the kid? Or the parents who let them do it? Kids, and dogs, are a responsibility.Dont get mad at an innocent animal cause you didnt bother to train it and then left it stuck in the car.

dogs chew on things and he probably was upset being left alone, i hope it was not hot weather and i am sure you left some air in while you were gone
to stop him from doing it do not take him in the car alone, leave him at home...
no you should not shoot him, and if you do not love him enough to forgive your dog, give to someone that will take good care of him, even if it is to the pound, he will have a chance to find someone who loves him and take good care of him like he deserves.....

Do not under any circumstances leave your dog in any vehicle. It is against the law in the US. And you can be fined up to $1,000 and be put in jail. If you are not responsible enough to care for you animal yes you should take it to the humane society. And dont get any more animals.

Maybe he chewed up the seats because he was mad that you (his caretaker) left him in a scorching hot car while you went shopping!Nice job, bud.You should surely take the dog to the pound, maybe someone will adopt him who will love him.

That just means that he was mad because you left him alone. I have a really good dog and oneday she wanted to go with us and we wouldn't take her so she tore up all the paper she could find in the house and then chewed up my daughter's new pencils! She was upset but she never did it again.

Sorry to say that you deserve it! You don't leave an animal in a locked car. Don't try to change his behavior, change your behavior of not leaving a dog in a locked car.

and what exactly did you expect to happen? i wish he'd of chewed off your leg when you got back too. then followed up with sneezing in your face a few times while you were unable to move in your injured state. thus, leaving you trapped in your newly slobbered, un upholstered car.
