Bless you for helping others....I am a Christian and help others not only for the sake of my belief, because it is the right thing to do!!! I am glad that you have a heart for the homeless and needy, not that many people so on both sides of the fence. Please do not base your view of Christianity from the few apples that you meet, I know great people of all faiths as i do know ones who are down right horrible...i have learned that we should celebrate each others faith and treat each person as an individual...Thus is my belief that God will judge us according to the acts we have done not only to him, but to one another....
You are blessed with a gracious heart, i would have no problem calling you brother in the kingdom one day!!
God Bless

That is why you pay a missions offering at church. So we can feed the homeless, starving, and whatever else is needed in the world. What is wrong with you people that do not love Christ? You must did not get love at home. Tell the Lord that you need his help. Why would you want to be of the world? The world is to cruel and cold for me. I'll pray for you. GOD BLESS.

I am not to religiousy myself but I helped for over 24 years while traveling with the Air Force. I help when I can around home now. If I see someone down and out I have given them a small Job to do with some friends of mine or I go through a drive through window Make a U turn and hand out a little food. After they thank me I say don't thank me just do a good deed for someone else. mabe clean up the park your in or what ever but just pass it along. Un fortunately I have been set back seriously from an auto accident and Parkinson's BUT I STILL fix things for people. I repair small tools and find junk appliances and snaz them up a bit in my shop then when I here of some one in need I do what I can.
Every little bit helps but I would LIKE to START MY OWN WORK FORCE TRAINING SCHOOL. I bet I can take some homeless and turn them around if they want the help... I have seen the homeless, worked with them and fed them on my own. Not a big deal but the guys I worked with did not choose to be homeless. I just wish I had the funding to begin helping more folks. I think I Will check with my local church. Now you got me going again...THANKS FOR THE QUESTION...

I feel as you do about helping out the needy, here and in other countries. That is why I give donations through the mail. That is the only way I can contribute as I have a family and am a stay at home mom, so a missions trip is not in my future. Good question. God is Good. Don't underestimate him.

Our church helps with a couple different food banks, provides back to school supplies for low income kids, provides gifts and meals at Christmas and Thanksgiving, we give supplies to a local homeless "Tent City," our denomination has given millions of dollars and support to Hurricane Katrina relief, we send Health kits to war zones and to refugees. We take seriously God's commands to care for the poor, to seek justice for the oppressed.

Most of us do help, I help those people through the church. We have fast offerings that only go to those in need. First to those close to home that we know about, then pooled in with all the other fast offerings of the whole church to help those in other country's.

well for one spiritual things are more important than physical. even though my stomach needs a pizza once in a while, the point is that by putting spiritural things first, God will take care of you. As the good book says , in my words, who is more important the birds or you, since God knows how many hairs you have on your head.

Oh the enlightened mind. To do what's right because it is right! Not because some overbearing, judgemental, hypocritical something in the wherever tells you too.
