i'm an electrician and the fact of the matter is
when you unscrew the bulb you open the curciut
same with the switch
the meter wont care or change
the tv uses minimal power when only remote off
so when your on vacation it will be cheaper to unplug.
a/c off too, just min. heat
can save a few bucks yes...

Believe it or not, it could make a difference.
It's true with a television that you could save on your energy bill if you were to shut off your t.v. by the actual t.v. and not the remote! Like your computer, it's better to unplug it at night even after shutting if off.
So, I would have to assume that, yes, you would get a small charge by doing what you are doing.

No. As far as the electric meter is concerened, there is no difference between removing the buld or turning off the switch

Once you break the circuit by any means you are not using electricity. However it is safer to use the switch

Turn your meter wheel upside down for a week then flip it back over b4 they read it. That will make a difference
