I Think piano is much more romantic than violin. But that is my personal preference.

Both are romantic, depending on the music selection. I mean sing along piano or gypsy violin played loudly to clapping and foot stomping is not very romantic. Soft classics of either kind can be very romantic.

Violin I would say. A (well played) violin, a beautiful woman and a sultry red wine is super romantic. A piano, a beautiful woman and a red wine is a burlesque show.

they're both romantic, but pianos are a bit more relaxing and violins are more intense. i'd prefer piano, unless my bf's the one playing the violin.

I like both. But I do not like when a guy wanders around with a violin, for it can create some awkward moments. I dislike when I feel like a slave audience.
A mariachi band however can be fun and festive, but I would not call that romantic.
