Hehe this story brought up memories. I'm 26 now and when I was 16 and a hostess at a Sports Bar/Restaurant I dated one of the cooks. In fact we went to our company Christmas party together was out first date. He got a bit jealous because our drunk at the time boss wouldn't stop touching me (can we sexual harassment)! Anyways....we dated for 11 months and it was great. He ultimately left the restaurant before we broke up so not sure how that would have been as far as awkwardness.

However we did both attend school at a technical college. We were both in Culinary, but he was in the level ahead of me. I remember it being pretty awkward when we would run into each other......we would try and avoid each other. We didn't have an ugly breakup, but he was who I felt I first loved. Then I grew up a bit and realized it was puppy love is all. Everyone needs that though it's part of growing up. Years later we got in touch, went on a trip together even as friends with another set of friends of mine and remained friends for quite sometime. I often felt he wanted to rekindle our relationship, but I didn't feel the same. This was 3 1/2 - 4 years after our breakup about? Now we don't speak much as he moved.

Anyways, just thought I would share my story and it didn't turn out so badly, but each situation IS different. I guess you will have to weigh out the good with the bad. Meaning how much is she worth it to you to try and pursue a relationship with her? Do you think you will be able to handle working with her if you do date and things don't work out? If you go on one or two dates with her and you guys just don't have chemistry I highly doubt this will effect your working environment that much. It's if you date for quite sometime that things can get a bit weird. A lot to will depend on the maturity level of both of you in what you are or aren't able to handle.

I wish you all the best of luck. I have said it before and I will say it again.....and probably again some other time!

Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained!!

By the way sorry for the Novel =) Good Luck to you!

There's nothing to feel so scary like that honey. She's a cheerful gal, that's really good. Just wait untill you finish your job, wait for her, say "hi", and ask her out for a date.
I think she'll accept your invitation hon.
She's worth a try, right?
Be brave, man!

Well, just talk. :) Try asking something like, "What's up?" to break the ice. Maybe try, "Did you have a good weekend?". Of course, that one only works on Monday. ;)

check if the management has a problem with you dating people at work. ultimately you should give it a try if you think it's worth it though.

IN MY OPINION, U SHOULD ONLY WANT TO BE HER FRIEND. BECAUSE TRYING TO HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH SOMEONE U WROK WITH IS NOT A GOOD IDEA. BUT JUST ASK HER OUT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. TAKE IT SLOW!!!!!

it has to come from you. you need to be yourself you know. first get over your shyness that keeps you from talking to her. when thats done you'll know how to start a convo with her.
