I really just want to hear the experience of others on this matter.
Especially foreigners who came from a totally different school system and point of view.
What is the thing to do to get your kid his best chances in the coolest school in his neighborhood.
and what are the do's and don'ts

Is this a public school you are trying to get into? It's so specific to the area; city/state that you are in. I think you might want to be more specific with your question and mention the region/area that you are in. I could give you detailed answers based on my experience in West Los Angeles, but it probably won't be very helpful for your situation if you don't live here.
