Christian and a fundamentalist Islamic? For example, both claim a monopoly on the truth, to have God's word. What other examples can you think of ?

Both take their scriptures as the literal word of God, not to be interpreted or understood historically.
Both condemn culture as depraved.

As with most things, it depends on how literally and how fanatically the belief is practiced.

Looking back at the Crusade and the Inquisition, it's not hard to find parallels with Islamic Jihadists and even some Islamic terrorists. But even today, there are some Christian fanatics that are just as dangerous as any radical fundamentalists in any other religion.

The important thing is not to hold the rest of the religion responsible for the radical violent acts of a few fanatics. In either case.

its not just them its every form shape and fashion of religion and its followers claiming to always be right no matter what price the sufferage shall be
