u know recently I made my own diet which consisted of tuna and I walked 3miles a day . I told my gyno that I wanted to loose weight I weighed 186 he gave me a test called the metabolic test to see how fast my metabolism burns and well my metabolism burns at 1745 calories the moment I wake up so he put me on a 1745 calorie diet and he prescribe me a prescription pill that made me stop craving sweets since I was to eagar I started a 3day diet with tuna and crackers. Each morning I ate a half cup of tuna with at least 6-8 crackers(ritz) and for a snack I ate celery and carrots with ranch dressing at lunch I ate another half cup of tuna and crackers and at nite I ate a small dinner. and with me since 27 days is a learned habit I started to crave the tuna even more so I started this eating routine 7days a week with the walking and all day long I ate tuna plain tuna ritz crackers and a small dinner at nite and ma'am in no time I lost my weight now I weigh 155 and so i walked every other day and yoga on other days the tuna helped shrink my stomach and now im happy people all ask how I done it and well this is what I done I have a14yr old and I have a 3yr old an maam I've never felt better so many people tell me I look good and all I know it feels good to not have to open your legs to tie your shoe when now all i do is just been right over and do it good luck maam find u another doctor because u can loose that weight this is a crazy way but this is what i did and if I start to gain my weight back because i slipped and started eating chocolate to much I will go back to my tunna diet again so how desperate are u? I was desperate and now Im happy>

I don't think that a doctor should really say something like that, especially if he's actually trying to discourage you from losing weight. Nothing is impossible. It sounds like you are trying very hard to lose weight, and I am sure you are on the right track.

I am on the "Extreme Body Makeover Diet" which works for me. I have lost about 50 pounds since the first week, and I'm on the 32nd week, about 10 pounds away from my goal. It is basically also a low carb diet where you count portions and are limited to mostly vegetables and proteins. I think the biggest problem with it is that it's a bit of a commitment to learn how to do it, and then actually doing it is another step altogether where much of your time is devoted to cooking. But it helps me reorganize my life and makes it simpler to know when I'm overeating.

I've also listened to the audio book for "French Women Don't get fat" which is philosophically at the opposite end of the spectrum from my diet, but I enjoyed it and agreed with most of what she says, too. I use her philosophy for those days when I really feel the need for cheese or wine which usually happens about once a week.

I also like to dedicate certain days or meals to beans and vegetables because sometimes I feel like I should have been a vegan.

Don't give up- have patience with yourself, and remember to brush your teeth so you can smile at your grandchildren in twenty years without scaring them. Good luck!

I just lost 30 lbs on the Cambridge Diet after having the same problem as you. If I weren't so exhausted (it's awfully late and we just got the surprise of a flooded kitchen fixed) I'd give you more details but I'm just too sleepy. LOL! this is my last post of the night. It's a great diet, it teaches behavior modification as well, tastes great, is affordable and has over 30 years of extensive research to back it up. See the website link below for my distributor site and feel free to email me through the site with any questions you may have. You cannot buy this in stores but most distributors sell through their websites. If nothing else, use my site to get more information, it breaks it down pretty easily for you.

Hope this helps and have a great evening!

I have lost 85 lbs on weightwatchers, also by not only doing aerobic exercises but also lifting some weights too. While cardio is great, it is easier to maintain a lower weight when you have more lean muscle mass because you burn calories at a higher basal matabolic rate. I have 2 children.

I was just like you then one day, I climbed on the scale and I was about 15 lbs lighter. During my Europe trip, I lost another 7 lbs in two weeks, eventhough I was eating plenty. Eat two average meals and one meal just a salad and fruit. Also check my weblog.
