Treat it as you would any other behavioral issue. Be honest with your child, and just calmly tell her that eating boogers can make her sick. Tell her ahead of time that if she eats her boogers she will have a consequence, and tell her what the consequence will be (such as having to write sentences, or having to clean something). Also make sure and teach her what she needs to do when her nose is full of boogers, make sure there is plenty of kleenex on hand, etc. But don't give it too much attention or else she will get the rush people get from doing something they know is taboo. Again, just make it like any other behavioral issue, pull the emotion out of it and consistently follow through on the consequences and it should subside with time. Remember, it isn't an all or nothing thing, you're looking for steps toward the desired behavior so don't expect perfection. Just expect progress. Hope this helps.

HAHAHAHAHAHA - When I first read this question I thought you said B U R G E R S - HAHAHHAHA - I was like what's wrong with burgers - if you feel that strongly - then give them chicken nuggets instead! SHEEESH!!
Then when I read your complete post I realized you meant boogers ... HAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHH!
I was going to say hot sauce, but then I remembered when my grandma did that to my brother and he got it into his eye after he rubbed it ..... HAHHAHAHHQAHAHHAHHAHAH - I can't breath - I can't breath!!! HAHAHAHHAH!
AH memories!
Anyway - make sure she blows her nose in the morning when she washes her face. Spray some nasal saline spray (without any other medication - you can get this at any drug store) up her nose - and make sure she blows hard.
This will help to get rid of most dried up boogies up there. Other than that - don't worry it's just a phase - she'll grow out of it... My brother did. LOL
By the way a little joke -
How do you make a tissue dance?
Put a little boogie in it!

When my brother was younger he used to eat his too. I asked him why he did it and he told me he liked to eat them because they were crunchy. Eventually they grow out of it. One day some kid will see your child eat a booger and say eew you eat your boogers and then your child will be embarrassed and never eat them again. Children eat the oddest things.

It's spelled --- Boogers. Leave them alone it'll stop eventually. You could be facing much worse life threatening issues .

Thank goodness neither one of my children did this. I would say to just keep telling her not to do it and give some sort of punishment for doing it.
