oh yeah definately. my son is only 9 monhsold but when ever he looks at me and cries i feel lik crying too! ithink its because as a mother i don't ever want my son childeren to cry and when i see him cry i feel like its my fault. when he was 4 months old he had a seizure and i totally freaked out although i am epileptic and know how to handle seizures all the worst thoughts were coming to my head and i cried and scremed andfreaked then called an ambulance, now he is on the waiting list to have an mri i know he'll be fine and its more than likely epilepsy, but i cant help but feel responsible some how!. and i am dreading seeing him under anaesthetics. i am going to hate it....
okay sorry about my life story. short answer... yes i always feel like crying when i see him cry...

Yes---my husband scares him *on purpose* sometimes when we are playing. I hate it...I just want to cry when I see him happy then get so terrified. When he gets hurt physically--I don't think I'll have time to cry. Those are the times where parents take charge and do what need to be done. Good question!

I have never felt like crying at those times. I just always feel bad for her. If she is crying just because, it is the cutest thing. If she is crying because she is hurt I just want to make her feel better.

Oh yeah definetly and when my children get really hurt and need to go to the hospital then forget it. My ten year old daughter needed to get stitches twice once when she was four and won her first trophy in a parade did a cartwheel and split her chin open and once on the first day of kindergarten she was so excited she ran into the front door and split her forhead open. I brought her to the hospital and ended up in a stretcher next to her I passed out and they hadn't even started to work on her yet it was just the thought that oh my god my baby is hurt that does it to me. She also got hurt sledding last year and had to be taken to the hospital and again right in the stretcher next to her was me.

Yes. If someone hurts my child or his feelings, it makes me cry. But you have to be tough to help the child. It is not good to be too sensitive.

Yes, not really when my children cry but definetly when they get hurt either physically or emotionally. I don't think any good parent likes to see their child suffer.

Motherhood makes suckers of us all. My daughter knows that making the sad face and starting up the water works is a sure way to get what she wants. It works, but somehow I always feel tricked :)

Yes, it's just empathy.
And when he laughs, I laugh too.
I often mimic his facial expressions - and he mimics pretty much everything I say and do! (Good and bad, doh!)
Especially emotional hurts. If I see him get shunned or made fun of on the playground, I feel sooooooooooOOO bad.

Oh yes! My son is shy and I want to cry when he is left out of things because of his shyness. It doesn't take much for me to get sappy. They make you melt!
