I have read that you get them when you have a lack of zinc. So maybe try taking a supplement. Although that will not work quickly.

Peroxyl mouth rinse by Colgate seems to work well
Take a good multivitamin-multimineral cap or tablet daily Dissolve 2-3 DGL tablets (health food store) in your mouth 3-4 times daily.
Avoid irritating food and drinks; don't smoke or dip tobacco

make a paste of baking soda and water and spread it on before you go to bed.
If the taste of baking soda is too much, try chewing up a rolaid or tums and make a paste from the crumbs and let that sit on the sore.
Works great, promise!
