I try to every night pray for everyone I know,I have an ex that has caused a lot of problems with in my home, and I pray for them and their new family.I pray they will have a good life,And that God will make the situation between us good.I would also pray that God will help you with your ex and since this is the dad of your child praying for him would be good on your part,no matter what you two have gone through,You share the most precious gift together that any one could,So never wish anything bad on him you will find harmony with him if you pray for him,God will touch his heart, and make him see the right way.

I do, but I also pray for a forgiving heart, and that I will be able to have the strength to love them as He does, regardless of the way I am treated by them.

Anger or resentment is usually a by-product of pain- and that is essentially what you are praying for, the release of pain for yourself and the other party.

I would also pray for myself, that I have the ability to do what's right in the face of a situation that is wrong. I would give the whole issue up to God and pray that he will work it all together for good, and tell me when I need to take action and how to go about it.

All the Best with your son, I hope you don't mind that I prayed for your situation :)

It sounds as if you to may be a Christian but lacking a little faith. Bad things happen to good people all the time in this world. We expect them to. Its not right in our minds but while in this world we are tested and tempted everyday.

I think your friend at work gave you some pretty good advise. Appears to me that she has your best interest at heart. we are told in the Word of God to love are enemies. We don't have to like what they do. But are to treat everyone the way we would like to treated.

You are not to be a doormat to anyone. That's not what I'm saying. If the courts gave you custody then use the system for your protection.

If you love God and put Him first in your life then He is watching over you. Praise Him for everything and He will bless you.><>

I have before and it's sooo hard to do. But wow, it really does help things. You learn to love the people you pray for. Then you can see them in God's eyes. When your motivations are pure, then you're better able to see the whole picture, and the so-called "enemies" respond way better to you. Plus everything just ends up falling into place so beautifully. And everyone in the situation is better off, plus you have no regrets, and you've just become a better person, and, so have they, thanks to your prayers. (you can also pray to soften their hearts too, that's usually a good idea, and u get to watch miracle/ u-turns happen)

Yes! Your friend is totally correct! It says in the Bible, "Bless those who persecute you" Another good example is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."; and yes another great Biblical example is "Love your neighbor". God repeately tells us in the Bible to bless and love our enemies. Even when Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemanee right before Judas had him arrested, Jesus was praying and blessing those who were about to do harm to Him. I know it's a hard concept to grasp, but it's true. If we bless others, then God will bless us and show through us. As a fellow born- again Christian, I firmly believe that when we pray for others, we are putting the situation in God's hands. With you being a Christian, I encourage you to please put faith and trust in God! God is not going to let you down in any way! By praying for them, God blesses you! He will not let anything bad happen! Phillipeans 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strangthens me." I encourage you to memorize and always remember that verse. It greatly helped me through times I was in hospital beds, and could do nothing of my own power to heal. I will however, that before asking God to bless the others, first pray that God will give you the power and strangth to pray for them, and that you will have the right attitude when praying for them. God is not by any means gonna allow anything to happen that You and Him cannot handle together. He loves you so very much! As a fellow Christian sister, I will also keep you in my prayers, and pray that God will give you the strength to follow Him!
Rock on sister in Christ! :)

When I have a problem with another human being, I not only pray for that person, but for myself as well. I pray for guidance and strength, so I can deal with the situation. I pray that the Lord softens the heart of those who are angry, hateful, or vendictive. I ask the Lord to help me forgive those who have hurt me and I ask for forgiveness for myself for the anger I may carry.

Well, I don't know that you need to pray for "God to bless them." However, in your praying, if you pray for the best for them and for all involved, if you are open and honest to God, you will find that your attitude is helped and transformed. I try to pray for people I'm having trouble with, or don't like, but to be honest, sometimes the most I can pray is "Lord, help me." Again, in opening yourself to God, you are opening your spirit for God to work in you.

Yes, I do this. Try it for a month, and see if your attitude doesn't change.

I also add, "...and help me become a person who means it." That is, when I pray for people who hate me, part of me is unresolved and I feel some stirrings of anger and pride, so when I pray that God bless them, I also pray that God remove from me whatever is in me that causes me to internally respond to them in a negative way.

That is the right thing to do and as for myself I need to do it more often. I got a ways past being bitter toward people who do me wrong but now I am seeking to grow in loving them which is not a natural thing to do but more of a supernatural thing. Only when we let God work through us can we achieve something like that.

Yes. I believe good becomes good in return. Once you begin praying for all walks of life, good things begin to happen everywhere you look. And then you genuinely begin to care for those around you. We are all but human. Some were raised differently than others and for that it's not necessarily their fault if they're rude or egocentric. We all have two eyes, two ears, and one mouth. So therefore we can all learn to be kind by seeing and hearing. Then share that by word of mouth.
