No. I work with veterans every day. You can't see it. But you can sense it if you ask them about their lives. They talk proudly about their victories or they may act distant and sad about something you can't quite know.

The best way to know if someone is a war vet, is to ask. The answer will always be YES with pride if it is true.

War mark es every man or woman who has bean there differently. Some jump at loud noises,some get what is called the thousand-yard stare. Some react violently when they are startled. But not all, and sensing who was in combat and who wasn't is only something you would learn to do if you spent a lot of time with people who had bean there.

not a war vet, but for some reason I can always sense if someone's infantry. just the way the person holds themself. i can't tell a war vet, but i can always point out someone who's prior service

a war vet,or a vet. I am a vet,not of this current conflict. I can tell if someone served,just by the manner they handle themselves. Actions speak louder than words is true.

I can't. I still have to think about just putting my hand over my heart instead of saluting our flag. I hear the national anthem and I get choked up. The military is filled with almost every type of personality, nationality, religion, ethnic background, so you just can't tell my looking.
