Almost every culture has form(s)-methods of martial arts. In fact, I see it as similar to language and food. There are main dishes-languages with several variations on the same theme or dialects.
African, Chinese, Japanes, Native Indian, Brazillian, Filipino, it goes on almost infinitely. Your guess is as good as mine and I've been studying for almost 35 years. I wish I could give you a definitive answer, really!
But, I respect your passion and desire to find knowledge. Perhaps, you will take what you know and develop an art, just like Bruce Lee? He's my all time favorite because he studied and created a form, correct?
That is "Art" applied to physical discipline and a willing spirit.
Good health to you,

How do you describe martial arts? If you think it is bunches of katas and spiritual crap then there's over 300.
If you're thinking of those that are actually real martial arts that's effective in actual hands to hands combat then there's less 20.

Too many, like different types of taverns. You're better off finding a place that's mainly into street defense.
