If a former Sailor were to enlist in the Army, which ribbons would transfer over to the new uniform? I don't think Unit commendations would, but the individual's?

In other words, a Sea Sevice could be worn. But not something like a Battle E?

As a general rule, if you won it, you can wear it.

Individual ribbons may be worn. DOD publishes documents and posters to show priority.

Unit commendations may be worn if you were part of the unit during the period of time the unit was earned.

All of the individual's awards would transfer over. The unit awards are just that, UNIT awards. Unless you were in the unit when it was awarded, you will no longer be authorized to wear that award when you transfer.

Not all are transferable. Refer to AR 670-1 for general info in proper wear of uniform.
