A DNC is the process of removing any left over tissue from your wife's uterus, This left over tissue is actually pieces of Baby that are left when the body does not excrete all the matter by itself. The actual process is very stressful, but mostly painless, also can be very emotional, They use a funnel shaped cup with a hose attached and it has suction, it will Suck the remaining tissue from the womb, so there is no infection. Your wife may be very distraught over this, It is a very Emotionally painful ordeal to have to go through, seeing that she already knows she miscarried. Try to be supportive and give her the chance to grieve. Good luck and God bless.

DNC is the process that a doc do on a woman after a miscarriage...it's the process of an small instrument that is inserted into a womans vagina and it scrapes the walls of here vagina on the inside to make sure there is no sign of a baby/fetus left inside her womb.If anything is left inside of her,it will rot and set up infection and so on..and it only happens when she goes in to see a doc,it's not like morning sickness that can go on mornin after mornin. After the doc does the dnc your sweety will be good to go.But if she has already had the dnc done and she is still feeling sick she needs to get back to a doc asap.

I am sorry that this happened to you. My wife and I went through 3 miscarriages before having our daughter, it is very emotionally draining and the worst part is I didn't see any support groups for women for this. It takes a toll on a woman because many times she thinks it is her fault somehow, which is absurd.

Anyway, please be there with your wife and then take if possible take her somewhere for a few days to get away.

A DNC is what a doctor does to clean out a woman internally so there is nothing remaining from the miscarriage. I won't go into detail except to say there is a little bit of suction involved.

D and C is a procedure to scrape and collect the tissue (endometrium) from inside the uterus. Dilatation ("D") is a widening of the cervix to allow instruments into the uterus. Curettage ("C") is the scraping of the contents of the uterus. This is to control bleeding and made sure that all of the baby is removed so as to avoid infection. It's a simple procedure and your wife should be fine afterwards.

sorry for your loss.

A d&c consists of going cleaning out the uterus after you have lost a fetus. They will take your wife into a room and put her in a gown. They will then lay her on a bed and give her sedatives. She will not remember the procedure, but anyway they will take her into surgery and scrape clean her insides. Then they will take her into another room and let her wake up. she will be in pain for a day or two. But they most likely will give her pain killers. Here is a site you can also look at.

a dnc is when the doctor goes inside the vagina to remove anything that didn't pass during the miscarriage. Doing this will ensure that no infections will occur . if this doesn't get done any debris left from the fetus could cause infection. You have nothing to worry about it won't affect her from having another child .

Its, dilation and curette. They will dialate her cervix and scrape or vacuum any left over matter from the miscarriage that if left could cause a serious infection for her. Its performed under anaesthetic so she wont feel anything. she may or may not bleed for a few days but if shes still bleeding heavily after 14 days seek medical advise. I'm so very sorry for you loss and I hope every thing turns out OK

It is a non abortion procedure to clean the afterbirth out. If this is left it can cause a severe infection and future problems. Non abortion because the body has already naturally aborted the fetus. But the procedure is basically the same.
