I just started a new job and I clamed 1. I am trying to estimate how much I will take home in my check.

Check out the withholding tables that the MI Dept of Treasury website:

Here's what you do... Ask the Accounts Payable person or wait for your check and figure out the percentage. I claim 5, so it usually works out to having 10% pulled out of the gross earnings...

Go to www.paycheckcity.com
click on calculators and choose paycheck calculator. don't forget to change the state to michigan. put in all your info. ie: your gross wages, your tax deductions and any other withholdings you may have. Click calculate. This will show you what your check amount will be!!

in most states all taxes combined , state, federal , ss ,usually add up to about 25%
