Not all Christians are like that. I don't bash anyone else's religion. In fact, If I could I would totally go to another church right now because I'm in a protestant church and I don't always agree on the things they say sometimes. I'm not downing my church, but sometimes old traditions stay within a church for a long time, if you get my meaning..

A *true* Christian wouldn't true and force their beliefs on other people.
Christianity isn't unique in the fact that they teach you to have faith. Most religions, if not all, teach you to have faith.
For instance- the Hindu Deity Genesha. Acceptance of the elephant headed Genesha as the divine force stills the rational mind and it's doubt, forcing one to look beyond outer appearances. Thus, Genesha creates the *faith* to remove all obstacles.
This is just one example out of many.
And I can't believe you say "Every other religion or spiritual system teaches that the way to get back to God is through some kind of religious works." First of all - how many religions do you know of? How many interworkings of these religions are you familiar with?
You can't just pretend to know ever other religion is wrong because you believe yours is right.
To get directly to your original question - why do people think Christians bash on other religions - because, mostly, they do.
No one knows what religion is right and what religion is wrong. You can just believe what you believe and be satisfied, but when Christians go door to door (At the urging of their priests) to "spread the truth in the Bible" then thats going too far. I respect what you belive, if it makes you learn you're lifes lessons, then good for you. But don't assume I'm wrong because I don't believe in god the same way you do.

because exactly what you are doing right now, putting yourself on a pedestal before other religions saying its unique, its whatever. when speaking of other religions, please, stop COMPARING them to your own. I've been raised christian, went to a christian school, believe ME, I know how 'bashing" christians can be. you want to see a religion all about love, and compassion, look at buddhism. buddhists don't believe buddha was god, but looked up to him, because he was a righteous man, and lived the way god would want him to. many religions are the same, and God is always the same, although they may call him by a diffrent name. Christianity is not solely unique. EVERY single religion has its good and bad points, what makes them bad is the ignorance and self righteousness of its followers. advice: be spiritual, NOT religious. I still believe in God, just not the way you think. And if you are to say that is wrong, then you are proving the point you thought was wrong. The problem is, sweetie, in any religion, or politics, EXTREMISTS. be open minded, don't be EXTREME. spread the love of God through your actions, not words, listen more, speak less.
maybe this answered your question, maybe not.
The essence of all religions is one. Only their approaches are different. -Gandhi

"The Bible teaches that we (all of humanity) are made right with God or justifies through FAITH." "do you agree with me?"
I disagree:
"Consider all of the people who live in the remote regions of the world who have never even heard the "gospel" of Jesus Christ. Consider the people who have naturally adhered to the religion of their parents and nation as they had been taught to do since birth. If we are to believe the Christians, all of these people will perish in the eternal fire for not believing in Jesus. It does not matter how just, kind, and generous they have been with their fellow humans during their lifetime: if they do not accept the gospel of Jesus, they are condemned. No just God would ever judge a man by his beliefs rather than his actions."

There you go, your words:
"spred the truth in the Bilbe that so many religous systems don't follow or twist things"
That is plenty of bashing already -- not to mention the spelling mistakes...

Being a Christian is a belief in a religious system, doctrine, and dogma, it is not unique, not at all.
You are enveloped in pride, your ego is swollen at having found the "true" faith, a fellowship and relationship - but, rather than emulate Jesus, and walk the walk - you, like 99.9% of all who claim to be Christian, are content to belong to the fan club. No sacrifice, no loss.
Enjoy your little club.

I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that because people conceive Chritianity in a certain sphere-they tend to feel that we look down on other churches. whereas what we should ultimately recognize is that we all serve One God instead of setting up divisions and walls which do nothing but divide. we should draw from each other and grow. hope this helps!

Because to be a Christian means that you must accept Christ which means you can't accept Buddah or any other deity so by definition our religion is very intolerant. This is what non-Christians refer to as bashing and also some Christians do relish their preaching a little too much and it gives everybody a bad name(For example, the inquisitors)

If you deny that Christians bash other religions, then you are lying. Plain and simple. Listen to Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell, any number of other Baptist and Pentecostal preachers and you will hear them criticize and bash other religions. However, your self-righteous view is also another indicator of how brain-washed fundies are.

On a panel show on CBC in Canada a rabbi asked a fundamentalist Christians to stop telling their young people they will go to hell if they don't convert. The Qu'ran (all praise to Allah) but we do not condemn others. In the Bible it states that those who have the law,(The Bible), will be judged according to the law. But those who do not will be judged by how they react to their own concience,Praise Yahweh
