Definitely as a pretext, and an opportunity for the White House oligarchy &clientele, not only in pecuniar terms,in terms of political capital for sure.Masquerading as the defender of the world democracy and peace and savior of the Universe, perpetuating and fueling the brain-washing terror psychosis.
War is always a business, sad but true, and so is RECONSTRUCTION and indirect privatization, free movement of capital tricks...
Who's gonna directly or indirectly benefit?.ExxonMobil , Shell,Bechtel blahblah
It's a brave new world out there and this is the American way
It was highly predictible,as the "free trade'hasn't been doing great lately
Don't say"Bush got no financial benefits from this 'affair',for the lack of a better word .In my opinion 'the great lider' is addicted to power and control (it comes with the territory)and, in order to have this power, he needs the financial elites to be on his side.

additional stuff(other than my humble opinions)

If you open your eyes,it makes a whole lotta sense.

Amin, yes,ESPECIALLY TODAY more than ever.Innocent victims
shouldn't be used as an artificial pretext to make more victims,as merely tools to be used to gain more power and control. We owe it to their families. We should question everything. It won't make you less of a patriot,it's rather the other way around.Bush has no valid arguments whatsoever

I dont know about monetary profit, though the war in Iraq (which of course has nothing to do with 9/11) has clearly benefited Cheney and Halliburton.

Bush is definitely using 9/11 and the threat of terrorist attacks for political benefit though.

Sorry, but prof. athletes get paid more than the president, and they don't have to do half of what he does. I know half the posts above are 'i hate the president' but I really believe, that after all that has happened to us in the past five years that he is doing a great job in securing our future... just not our social security money lol

no, there is no profit for a president, any and all of his investments are in trust, he has no control over them.

And blog writers are merley a person who buys a web site and can't be hired by real newspapers, not really a good sourse of any truth

Always references the same stupid blog. Typical liberal, can't think for themselves.

Hey Michael Moore, what should I think today. So sorry Michael cannot hear you right now, he is spending all the money he is making from his investment in Halliburton.

Bush has responded to 9/11 by doing his job. If he did not, we would have to remove him from office.

A key function of the President is to respond to threats against America. He commands the military and intelligence agencies to eliminate those threats.

Bush is doing exactly what we should expect of him.

of course he does unless you've missed the last five years. the press and the president all use it to their advantage and cash in big time, otherwise they wouldn't be doing it in the first place.
