i m seeking job so HR interviews I m facing

I doubt if they would ask that kind of question. Lots of very good applicants may not have a mother or father...most sensible HR departments would steer clear of that question...

That surprises me that an actual HR professional in the U.S. would ask that question. Are you sure that is a valid question as it borders on eeoc compliance issues.

Don't answer anything related to protected categories (race, ethnicity, age, etc).

What a clever question; you can't duck it without sounding disassociated or disrespectful of your parents, and that kind of answer can say tons about you.

All you can do is think through the question beforehand so you will be ready for it and answer quickly and decisively.

Make sure you incluse buzz words like "work ethic" and "initiative", "never quitting", "honesty". They are looking for those words.
